A leading Medical technical support organization is looking for competent driven individuals to fill the following positions.

Senior Nurse Trainer - 1 Post based in Nairobi

Qualifications
• Higher Nursing degree: BSN preferred.
• Training experience required.
• Current clinical practice as a nurse
• At least 3 years of recent experience in the care of patients affected by HIV/AIDS.
Key functions
• This is primarily a training position with particular emphasis on developing and implementing an effective practical nurses mentorship program that addresses emerging practice needs including but not limited to task shifting.
• Analyze programmatic data and develop interventions to address deficiencies in quality of patient care and patient outcome for a multi regional care and treatment program.
• Prepares, update and disseminate through a variety of forums clinical protocol and educational materials.
• Utilize programmatic data to address site-level patient outcomes
• Supervise and support regional nurses in achieving program goals including measurable improvement of facility based nurse clinical practice
• Representation of the organization in various technical forums
Job knowledge
• Understanding of administrative policies and procedures
• Understanding of adult training methodologies.
• Understanding of nurse role in chronic patient care.

Regional Nurse: Clinical - 1 Post based in Western Kenya

Qualifications
• A registered nurse
• Training experience required.
• Current clinical practice as a nurse
• At least 3 years of recent experience in the care of patients affected by HIV/AIDS.
Key Responsibilities
• Provide mentorship and training to nurses at the local LPTF’S to ensure each site establishes effective clinical task shifting.
• Support task shifting at the care and treatment sites
• Utilize programmatic data to address programmatic deficiencies in patient outcomes at site level
• Liaise with the PASCO and participants of the organization’s partner sites in local and regional activities and the Ministries of Public Health and Medical Services officials to ensure national policies are implemented at partner sites
• Representation of the organization at a regional level

Regional Nurse: Community Based Treatment Support - 1 Post based in Western Kenya

Qualifications
• Registered nurse
• Training experience required.

Purpose and Key Responsibilities
• Ensure implementation of the organization’s existing community based strategy across all supported sites in Western Region to improve patient retention and support adherence to improve outcome.
• Provide mentorship and training to community nurses at the supported sites to ensure each site establishes an effective community based treatment support program responsive to patient needs.
• Support task shifting at care and treatment sites
• Utilize programmatic data to address programmatic deficiencies in patient outcome at site level
• Liaise with PASCO and participants of the organization’s partner sites in local and regional activities and the Ministries of Public Health and Medical Services officials to ensure national policies are implemented at partner sites
• Representation of the organization at a regional level

Community Based Service Nurse Lead - 1 Post in Nairobi

Qualification
• Higher Nursing degree: BSN preferred.
• Training experience required.
• Current clinical practice as a nurse
• At least 3 years of recent experience in the care of patients affected by HIV/AIDS.
Purpose and Key Responsibilities
• Ensure implementation of the organizations existing community based strategy across all LPTF’S to improve patient retention and support adherence to improve pt outcome.
• Provide mentorship and support to regional CBTS teams in providing targeted support to partner facilities
• Utilize programmatic data to address programmatic deficiencies in patient outcomes at site level
• Prepare and distribute appropriate medical educational material for the regional teams
• Develop and update training materials and protocols as well as provide and support training in existing organization’s community based treatment strategy
Job knowledge
• Understanding of administrative policies and procedures,
• Understanding the role of the nurse in chronic patient care and community support services.
• Understanding the role of the community in chronic patient care
• Thorough understanding of adherence enhancement strategies especially at the community level.
Program Accountant - 1 Post based in Nairobi

Qualifications
• A Bachelor’s degree in accounting, a professional qualification in accounting (ACCA, CPA or equivalent)
• Experience in budget preparation and tracking in the NGO sector
• Computer proficiency with basic accounting programs, knowledge in quick books an added advantage
Purpose and Key Responsibilities
• Keep the organizations financial accounts
• Assist the program manager during budget development as well as budget tracking.
• Liaising with the regional accountant to ensure compliance to US government accounting regulations of financial accounting.
• Development and submission of accounting reports on a regular basis to the program manager.
• Administer and maintain assigned accounts to verify accuracy of transactions and uniform application of policies, procedures, and acceptable standards

Regional Laboratory Technologist - Based in Western Kenya

Responsibilities
• Visit each point of service during the site preparation and support visits, and conduct an analysis of the laboratory’s existing capacity and laboratory needs.
• Suggest to the Country Clinical Lead Team equipment needed at points of service both for new site activations and additional equipment needs of existing points of service.
• Ensure that facilities are implementing and maintaining quality assurance and quality control procedures as per organization and national standards.
• Support points of service to forecast their reagent needs, link points of service to reagent supplier’s in-country and advocate for timely distribution.
• Support points of service laboratory personnel to be able to obtain and process and arrange transport for blood samples for viral load analysis where viral load testing is indicated based on national guidelines
• Support logistics within existing laboratory networks.
• Work closely with other the regional Ministries of Health personnel, and laboratory stakeholders to ensure the organization is adequately and appropriately represented.
Training

The laboratory technologist will receive appropriate training from the organization. The laboratory technologist may also be required to attend laboratory meetings and/or trainings both within and out of the country.

Qualifications
• Must be registered by Medical Lab Technologist/ Technician Board (KMLTTB).
• Current certificate of practice from KMLTTB.
• Minimum Higher Diploma in Medical Laboratory Sciences specialized in Virology from a recognized institution. Bachelor degree in Medical laboratory Sciences will be an added advantage.
• At least four (4) years experience in a busy clinical laboratory preferably in
• Knowledge in monitoring ART and OI diagnostics is Mandatory.
• Experience with Viral load analysis
• Proof of Continuous Professional Development
