1. Internal Auditor

Overall Purpose of the Job

The internal auditor shall be responsible for ensuring compliance and internal controls within the Sacco.

Key Responsibilities

Reporting functionally to the Board members and administratively to the General Manager, the key responsibilities will be to:
• Implement the Sacco's Internal Audit strategy, policies and procedures
• Follow up reviews-Assess the implementation of management action plans to address internal control deficiencies
• Evaluate existing processes and make recommendations for improvement.
• Carry out risk identification, risk assessment and audit planning for high risk areas.
• Manage internal audit resources including time, internal audit documents and resources.

Qualifications and competence.
• Business related degree preferably Bachelor of commerce.
• CPA (K)
• 3 years experience preferably in a Sacco environment.
• Strong analytical skills, high integrity and a good communicator with strong leadership skills.

2. Agribusiness Development Officer

Applications are hereby invited for the mentioned position in the Society.

The Person will be reporting to the micro-credit manager and will be responsible for research and development of Agribusiness for the Sacco Micro credit department in liason with other functional units.

Main Duties and responsibilities
• Report to the micro credit manager
• Establishment of the business potential in the Agricultural sector in Taita Taveta districts
• Establish the current needs of the market segment, linkages with key market players and identifying specific customer needs that may require review of existing products of development of new tailor made products in micro credit department
• Coordinate with key institutions relevant to agricultural sector and its value chain including government and development partners
• Development of project concepts, proposals and business plans appropriate for the agricultural sector
• Project coordination, implementation, monitoring and evaluation.
• Attend to group meetings and also members queries.
• Conduct appraisal/assessment of individual loan applicants
• Preparation of member's loan application forms to determine their ability status as and when received
• Advising members on loan procedures and loan qualifications
• Disburse loans and maintain loan portfolio to the desirable limits.
• Preparing loan reconciliation/recovery reports
• Compiling loans statistics
• Monitors loan recovery and shares contributions of each member
• Maintains the loan register and other related loan documents.

Qualifications and competence.

• A minimum degree in agriculture, agricultural Economics, agribusiness, business administration, marketing, commerce, economics or any other degree with a diploma in project management/entrepreneurship or its recognised equivalent.
• Experience of 3 years of proven track record in successful business development in the agricultural sector.
• Excellent communication skills and negotiation
• Good command of English and Kiswahili language.
• Strong research and analytical skills
• Good personal judgement, initiative, creativity and maturity
• Excellent interpersonal and networking skills,
• Advance report writing and presentation skills,
• Must be computer literate
• Ability and willingness to travel widely within Kenya and Coast region away from the base station for extended period of time.
