Plant Inspector (2 Positions)

Purpose of the Job:

• To actively participate in assurance processes for sustained mechanical integrity of the Refinery plant, equipment and piping systems to safeguard against loss of containment, personnel injury, environmental hazards and/or asset value reduction.
• To actively participate in improving equipment reliability and plant availability in order to increase gross margin and reduce maintenance costs by implementing world class plant inspection and maintenance processes to achieve step change in line with the business.
Required Qualification and Skills:
• B.Sc (or equivalent) preferably in Mechanical Engineering or Metallurgy/ Corrosion Engineering field, with a minimum of 3 years working experience preferably in a process industry.
• Be knowledgeable of Kenya Statutory Requirements with regards to Safety, Health and Environment.
• Have sound knowledge of engineering materials and their industrial applications.
• Have sound knowledge of manufacture and fabrication methods including Quality Assurance and Quality Control aspects.
• Have practical knowledge of Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) Techniques. Acquaintance with Petrochemical Industry 'Processes will be an added advantage.
• Be capable of working in varying environments including at heights, in confined spaces and for long and odd hours.
• Be physically fit, a go getter, team player and capable of working independently.
• Have superior verbal and written communication skills.
• Should not be more than 40 years old by 1st January, 2010.
