Kenya Coconut Development Authority a state Corporation under the Ministry of Agriculture based in Mombasa invites applicants who are between Twenty One (21) and Forty Five (45) years of age and are suitable for the following posts:

1. Procurement Officer I
KCDA Salary Scale 7

(One Post)

Duties and Responsibilities

A Procurement Officer I will be responsible to the Senior Procurement Officer for
efficient procurement/purchases;

Work at this level will involve implementation of Authority's policies on Supplies Management; application of procurement systems and procedures; implementing the disposal of unserviceable/obsolete and/or other stores on the recommendation of a board of survey and control of supplies vote.

Requirement for Appointment

For appointment to this post, the candidate must have:-
• a relevant Degree from a reputable University
• a Higher Diploma in Supplies Management or its acceptable equivalent.
• served in the equivalent grade in a reputable organisation for a minimum period of three (3) years;
• shown merit and ability in the performance of the procurement work
• Attended a Senior Management Course or Strategic Leadership Course from recognized institutions for a period not less than twenty eight (28) days.
2. Procurement Officer II

Duties and Responsibilities

Procurement Officer II will be responsible to the Procurement Officer I for efficient
procurement/purchases

The Officer will work under close supervision in the implementation of Authority's policies on Supplies Management; application of procurement systems and procedures; taking part in the disposal of unserviceable/obsolete and/or other stores

Requirement for Appointment

For appointment to this post, the candidate must have:-
• a Diploma in Supplies Management or its acceptable equivalent.
• served in an equivalent grade in a reputable organisation for a minimum period of not less than one (1)year;
• shown merit and ability in the performance of the procurement work.
3. Human Resource Management Officer II
KCDA Salary Scale 6
(One Post)

Duties and Responsibilities

The Human Resource Management Officer II will be reporting and responsible to the Human Resource Management I.

Duties and responsibilities at this level will entail performing various personnel duties of limited scope and complexity under close supervision and guidance from a more senior and experienced officer.

Specifically, duties will involve processing of cases for appointment, promotion, maintaining personnel records and performing any other relevant duties as may be assigned

Requirement for Appointment

For appointment to this post the candidate must have:-
• a Bachelor's Degree in Social Sciences from a recognized university;
• a Diploma in Human Resource Management
• have working experience of a minimum period of three (3) years in a personnel unit in Public Service or a comparable institution
4. Information Technology Officer II
KCDA Salary Scale 6
(One Post)
Duties and Responsibilities

The Information Technology Officer II will be reporting and responsible to the General Manager (Technical Services ).

Duties and responsibilities at this level will include;
• installation and maintenance of computer systems;
• configuration of Local Area Network and Wide Area Network;
• developing and updating application systems; and
• carrying out systems analysis, design and programme specifications in liaison with users;
• carrying out and facilitating the repairs and maintenance of Information Communication Technology equipment and associated peripherals;
• drawing up hardware specifications for Information Communication Technology equipment;
• and overseeing the process of configuration of new Information Communication Technology equipment and ensuring adherence to established ICT standards;
• supervising and compiling overall systems documentation;
• logging of problems;
• drawing and scheduling preventive maintenance;
• and assisting in feasibility studies as assigned.
• In addition the officer will be the chief advisor in all ICT matters.
Requirements for Appointment

For appointment to this post, the candidate must have:
• served in the grade of Information Communication Technology Officer or in an equivalent and relevant position in a reputable organization for a minimum period of three (3) years;
• a Bachelors Degree in any ICT related discipline with a bias in Information Communication Technology from a recognized Institution; or
• a Higher Diploma in Computer Science/Information Communication Technology or its equivalent qualification from a recognized Institution
• shown merit and ability as reflected in work performance and results; and
• demonstrated professional ability, initiative and competence in organizing and directing work.
5. Internal Auditor
KCDA Salary Scale 6
(One Post)

Duties and Responsibilities

The Internal Auditor II will be responsible and will be reporting to the Internal Auditor I for the pre-auditing of the Authority's expenditure.

The Internal Auditor II will be working independent from the Finance and Administration Management.

Specifically, his/her duties will involve:-
• Assisting in implementing audit techniques and procedures for finance and comprehensive audit;
• implementing audit programmes as well as issuing primary audit report, attend to queries and observations;
• take part in reviewing of accounting financial and budgetary systems.
Requirement for Appointment

For appointment to this post the candidate must have:-
• served as an Auditor for a minimum period of three (3) years in a reputable organization
• a Degree in any of the following: Accounting, Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Sciences and Part II of CPA
• demonstrated ability and a high degree of competence in conducting and supervising both financial and management audits.
6. Clerical Officer III
KCDA Salary Scale 3
(Two Posts)

Duties and Responsibilities

Clerical Officers at this level will be responsible and reporting to the Administrative
Assistant II.

Duties and responsibilities at this level will entail
• compiling statistical records; sorting out letters and filing them;
• dispatching letters and maintaining an efficient filing system;
• processing appointments, promotions, discipline cases, transfers and other related duties in human resource management;
• preparing payment vouchers;
• computation of financial or statistical records based on routine or special sources of information;
• compiling data and drafting simple letters.
Requirement for Appointment

For appointment to this post the candidate must;
• have served satisfactorily in the grade of Clerical Officer or its equivalent for a minimum period of three (3) years;
• possess any office operation related certificate
• be proficient in computer applications
• a candidate with professional qualifications in Accounts and/or Procurement will have an added advantage.
7. Driver III
KCDA Salary Scale 1
(One Post)

Duties and Responsibilities

The driver III at this level will be reporting and responsible to the Human Resource Management Officer and is expected to be competent on the operations of vehicles , detect and report common faults.

He/she is also responsible for keeping the vehicle clean and carrying out minor repairs including oiling and greasing, maintenance of a work ticket for1 vehicles assigned to him/her and ensuring safety of the vehicle and it's passengers on and off the road.

Requirements for Appointments

For appointment to this post, the candidate must have:-
• Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) mean grade D plain or its equivalent qualification from a recognized institution;
• a clean driving license free from any endorsement;
• adequate knowledge of the highway code;
• at least five (3) years driving experience;
• a Certificate of Good Conduct from the Kenya Police;
• Occupational Test for drivers Grade III;
• First Aid certificate course of not less than one (1) week from St. John Ambulance or Kenya Institute of Highways and Buildings Technology (KIHBT) or any other relevant reputable institution.
